X de Sciez 2020

France

With no wind, it took us 7.5 hours to get round the short course! That said, we were happy to see our competitors and friends again after so many regattas were cancelled because of the coronavirus, including the Bol d’Or.

For the first 6.5 hours, there was a lot of back and forth taking advantage of any breeze we could find, before Aeolus finally took pity on the fleet and sent us a zephyr.

A somewhat asthmatic zephyr, but a zephyr nonetheless! By this point, most of the boats were near the coast of Yvoire, and it was almost like a restart.

We managed a good bit of sailing under spinnaker, finishing in first place outright and third place on corrected time out of the 20 boats in our category.

Congratulations to our OLYMPIC Team:
